Little Deanies

 Our Little Deanies Nursery is a huge success. We embrace individuality, equality and diversity; we value every child and their family, thus promoting a culture of respect, confidence and positive self-esteem.

Little Deanies Nursery provides childcare and education for children aged 3 - 4 years. It is open during term time, from 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 5pm on Fridays. Extra hours (beyond funded hours) will also be available for £4 per hour.

If you wish to come and look around the Nursery tours are available. To book a tour please contact the school office on 01539 723363 or email admin@deangibson.cumbria.sch.uk . There is also a virtual school and nursery video which can be accessed on this website/ Dean Gibson Schools Facebook page.

If you wish for your child to attend please complete the enclosed admission forms and return them to the school office as soon as possible or email us a copy of your admission forms. To enable us to ensure the Nursery runs smoothly, we ask that the hours you require are clearly indicated on the form

LITTLE DEANIES DAILY ROUTINE

Morning
09:00-09:30: Child initiated play.
The children arrive at nursery and have time to settle into the nursery day through child initiated play.

09:30-09:45: Circle time.
A fun, planned adult led circle time takes place covering one or more areas of the EYFS curriculum.

09:45-10:30: Adult led activities.
Children can access adult led activities which are extended activities from the circle time. These activities are differentiated to reach each individual child’s needs.

10:30-10:45: Snack time.
A time for children to enjoy healthy food and water or milk, whilst having conversations with their friends. This is also great time for to support children to develop their communication and language skills, social skills and health and self-care development.

10:45-11:30: Indoor and outdoor child initiated play.
Where children will have the choice of what type of play they would like to access, with appropriate intervention from the practitioners in the setting supporting them. During this time children often display their own individual interests.

11:30- 11:40: Tidy up time.

11:40-11:55: Letters and sounds.

12:00-12:30: Lunch time
Children can bring their own healthy packed lunch or access a hot healthy cooked meal which is cooked onsite in the schools kitchen.

Afternoon
12:30-13:00: Child initiated play.
A time for the children to enjoy play, following their own interests and play ideas.

13:00- 13:15: Circle time.

13:15- 14:00: Adult led activities.

An opportunity for the children to choose a story or song of their choice for us to enjoy together.
