Eagles Class- Year 6
Welcome to the 2025-2026 academic year!
South Lakes Cross Country Championships- January 2026
We had another brilliant day yesterday at the South Lakes Cross Country Championships at Sedbergh School, Casterton.
Each and every child gave it their all on a very challenging course and were a credit to our school once again. Well done to all of the children who participated!
Stand out performances on the day include Lyra winning the Year 5 girls’ race- absolutely incredible running from Lyra and a huge congratulations on becoming the champion of the South Lakes. Ronnie finished in fifth place in the Year 6 boys’ race- another remarkable achievement in a very competitive race. And finally, Toby came home in fourteenth position in the Year 5 boys’ race; another impressive performance. Lyra, Ronnie and Toby will now go forward to represent Dean Gibson and the South Lakes in the Cumbria Championships in two weeks time. A huge thank you, also to all the parents and family members who came along, helping with transport and cheering on enthusiastically from the sidelines.
Spring Term 2026
Welcome back, Year 6! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. We hope you are feeling refreshed and ready for the exciting term ahead.
The Spring Term is always a busy and important time for our Year 6 pupils. Over the coming weeks, children will continue to build confidence, resilience and independence as they prepare for the next stage of their learning. We will be working hard, setting high expectations and encouraging everyone to try their best, while also making sure there is plenty of enjoyment along the way.
This term the children can look forward to a visit to Pizza Express, PE dance sessions led by a qualified dance coach and Young Voices in Manchester. The Spring term promises to be packed full of learning and excitement, so get ready and belt up for an incredible adventure!
