At Dean Gibson, we celebrate the uniqueness of each child in our care. As a staff we know your children have the right to have aspirations and to know they are precious in the eyes of God. In partnership with you we model the Gospel values of care, compassion and diligence on which our enterprise is based. In short, we encourage our children to have what Basil Hume called “a zest for living life to the full”.
We are a school for Catholic and non-Catholic children, welcoming all faiths and denominations. We believe that faith is “lived” and not just taught, a belief reinforced by our parish Priest, Father Hugh, who spends a great deal of time with us in school.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced and is delivered by an experienced staff to a high level. As well as gaining language, mathematical and scientific skills your child will build confidence, self-reliance and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas.

In June 2024, Dean Gibson underwent an Ofsted Inspection, where they noted that:

The school aims to provide pupils with a broad range of experiences. For example, pupils enjoy clubs in science, art, archery and sports. Visits and trips, including to museums, theatres, castles and cities further afield, enrich their learning.
The school has high expectations for pupils’ achievement. They achieve well. Pupils were eager to showcase their learning to the inspector. They enjoy recognition for their efforts, such as by receiving certificates in celebration assemblies.
Pupils focus well on their learning during lessons.
The school prioritises pupils’ love of reading. For example, pupils enjoy visiting the school’s well-stocked library and also the local library. The school has increased the range of texts that it provides
