    The Governors of Dean Gibson RC School, (Voluntary Aided), are looking to appoint a proactive and enthusiastic leader for our wrap around care, currently Breakfast and After School Clubs, as part of our friendly and hard working team.

    We are a diverse and inclusive school with a dedicated group of staff and parents. There is potential for extra hours' work as occasion arises, within school or our Little Deanies nursery setting.

    Post title:                 Wrap Around Care Leader (Breakfast & After School Club)

    Responsible to:        Executive Headteacher and Head of School

    Hours:                       15 hours (Breakfast Club 8-9am & After School Club Mon-Thurs 3.30-6pm Fri 3.30-5pm)

    Main Purpose:

    To supervise the provision of our breakfast and after school clubs (Culture Club) for pupils between the ages of 3-11. To co-ordinate all activities within a safe and stimulating environment in accordance with the club and/or school policies.

    Responsibilities/duties:

    • To provide a healthy breakfast/after school snack for children within the scheme, to promote a good start/finish to the school day
    • Plan a range of activities for the ASC to continue the Culture Club focus
    • Ensure a good balance of physical activity with creative and play activities
    • Where requested, provide support for children wishing to complete homework
    • Provide regular communication to parents and carers
    • Plan staffing rotas, ensuring sufficient cover for the mix of children attending
    • Actively promote attendance at the provision
    • Develop understanding of health issues such as healthy eating, dental health, fitness and exercise
    • Provide and supervise safe play activites for pupils
    • Carry out day to day administration, including registers, ordering the purchasing of equipment and food, record keeping and assessment, where appropiate
    • Liaise with school office about online payments and attendance
    • Record and inform parents of any incidents or accidents relating to their children that has occurred during the session
    • Liaise with school staff as required and in particular with Early Years staff where providing information for pupil profiles
    • Undertake relevant training as deemed necessary
    • Set up and clear away equipment
    • Carry out all activities within an equal opportunities framework
    • Ensure that school security regulations are upheld
    • Provide support to children including first aid duties, where appropiate
    • Encourage pupils to act independatly as appropiate
    • Undertake such duties as become necessary to ensure the successful running of the scheme

    Support for the School:

    • Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
    • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concernsto an appropiate person
    • Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
    • Contributeto the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
    • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
    • Attend relevant meetings as required
    • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
