Out of the Classroom

We have a varied programme of regular and occasional activities. These are organised to broaden children’s education and provide stimulation which enriches the learning process.

School is a very busy place with regular class trips, after school and breakfast clubs, and extra-curricular clubs. We have our own school allotment and wildlife garden, and our PTA is the only one in the country to organise a charity fell race acknowledged by the Fell Runners Association.

The children really benefit from and enjoy regular activities such as:

  • Class visits linked to curriculum work
  • Annual education excursions
  • Westmorland County Show
  • Horticultural Society Annual Show
  • Visits to live theatre
  • Sponsored events
  • Sports day
  • Christmas parties
  • Concerts and plays, which they present
  • Deanie's Got Talent (school talent show and fundraiser)
  • Charity collections and PTA events
  • Involvement with the wider community

Voluntary contributions may be requested for some activities.
