Other things you may need to know about Y2:
Reading Books
Your child will be heard to read regularly in school through guided reading sessions and our reading with RIC sessions as well as on an individual basis with an adult in class. Home reading books are for your child to read to you at home, a little every night if possible. A small positive comment or a short note about any problems in their reading log will be very helpful. Reading books will be changed in class on a Monday and a Friday.
PE
Our PE session will be on a Thurdsday afternoon, please ensure that your child comes to school in an appropraite outdoor PE kit, a lightweight waterproof may come in handy too.
Homework
Homework books will be sent home on a Friday, please ensure your child completes this and returns it to school by the following Wednesday. There will be Maths and English homework sent home on alternate weeks. As their English homework, your child may bring home ‘Big Talk’ homework in preparation for our Big Write on a Monday morning. This will provide opportunity for the children to discuss their ideas for their writing with you at home. Additionally, the children may also bring home a topic project over the holidays, this is their opportunity to share with you what they have been learning over the half term.
