Big Schools' Bird Watch

By James Duffin, 24 February 2015 – 0 comment

We had a fantastic time taking part in the Big Schools' Bird Watch as part of our Animals topic.  The children enjoyed making the bird feeders to encourage the birds to come to visit our school.  We talked about how we needed to behave during the bird watch and remembering to be quiet!

During the bird watch we were amazed at how many different birds we saw! From seagulls to magpies to one chaffinch.  The excitement was excellent and the work generated in class was of the highest quality. We made non-fiction pages on different birds and collated the birds we saw into a pictogram.

Quote of the day from one of the pupils was: 'It is so nice being this close to nature!'
