Elleray Cross Country Report 2020

A group of twenty-one children from years 3 to 6 competed in the Elleray Cross Country Competition on Wednesday afternoon. On a wet and muddy course, the children performed admirably. The stand-out performances on the day, included Alfie Tipping's eighth place finish in the Under 11 boys' race. In addition, Isla Ritchie came home in ninth position in the Under 11 girls' race, while Freddie Byrne also finished ninth in the under 10 boys' event. Well done to all the children who competed on a very challenging course. A huge "Thank you" also to the parents and grandparents who supported on the day.

Cumbria Schools' Cross Country Championships Report

Alfie Tipping, Willow Rigg and Freddie Byrne represented Dean Gibson in the Cumbria Schools' Cross Country Championships at Hunter Hall School, Penrith on Wednesday. Despite the poor weather leading up to the event, the course was in remarkably good condition. This was a challenging course, packed full of the features you'd expect in a cross country: low walls, water jumps and steep climbs! The children adapted well to the challenges of the course, with Freddie Byrne finishing in an impressive 6th place. Willow Rigg and Alfie Tipping also had good races, finishing approximately halfway in the pack. Well done to the children involved and a massive "Thank you" to the parents and family members who showed their support on the day.
