A banquet fit for many kings, queens and gentle folk!

Dancing Banquet table Guests

Our end of topic banquet was planned by the children. They wrote a shopping list for the menu which included; goose, sausages, chocolate ice cream and onion rings!!

The children planned the entertainment which was very varied; acts ranged from juggling to karate to beautiful dancing.

We all enjoyed ourselves, including the servants and cooks.

wheels day

wheels day wheels day 2 wheels day 3 wheels day 4

As Reception had managed to fill our pebble jar for their good behaviour and team work they were able to choose a theme for our party. As our topic was 'Amazing Journeys' they chose to bring in wheeled toys to play with on the school playground while all the other classes were working!!

It was such good fun.

Chinese New Year

chinese dragon the band dragon

The children realy enjoyed reading about the chinese New Year and finding out which animal they were, either the Year of the Rabbit or the year of the Tiger.

I was born in the Year of the Dragon.......say no more!!

We made red envelopes to put under our pillows for wealth and good luck. We also made a chinese dragon and listened to the music for the dance before we made our own band and performed a dance in the hall.

Our fortune cookies were also a great hit.

Last week in Reception the children were learning about space travel and keeping an eye on the adventures of Tim Peake the British Astronaut.

We even found out what it is like to eat chocolate pudding in space!

We wrote in our own space log books and created moon rocks to analyse.
